SWaPOL is an education & training project dedicated to a better cooperation between social work and police. A consortium of practitioners and researchers in Austria, Belgium and Portugal have developed a 5-days joint training course for social workers and crime prevention officers in the police. This training has been tested and evaluated in all partner countries and can now be integrated in existing vocational training schedules at schools of social work and in police academies.

The Project “SWaPOL – Social Work and Policing” – co-funded under the programme “ERASMUS+ Strategic Partnerships” – was carried out from Nov. 2018 to Feb. 2021.

Cooperation between
Social Work and Police lives on

The members of the SWaPOL Consortium offer train-the-trainer workshops to implement the SWaPOL training in other countries / cities. In a 1-day workshop the Handbook for Trainers will be explained and a curriculum that suits local circumstances will be discussed. If interested, please contact:
